Nice photo!
I am a big fan of Caterpillar pipelayers to, have last year and article in Podszum yearbook 2004 on pipelining.
Did you ever cam across some photos from the CAT 591.
I building a model of this pipelayer.
But Caterpillar builds only 1 so it?s very difficult to find information on this machine.
There are only 2 photos from it on the mine show in 1981 and a spec-sheet catalog.
A friend from the net how bin to this show send me this pic.

Hi QuAD,

the spanish model maker Joal produced some jears ago a model of the Cat 591 pipelayer. Unfortunately it is no longer produced because of the loss of the caterpillar licence. Perhaps you can find one in Ebay.

Hmm... wie will ich denn das Wissen... Ich leg doch keine Eier ;-)
Dass es aus der Wüste kommt ist mir klar. Doch die Antwort ist wohl genauso detailliert wie: "ausm Gebirge"

The Joal model is a 589 in 1:50 scale
Will this by a 591 it hase to by a smaller scale.
