Hallo Linaprin,

Thanks a lot for posting these old photos!

These Weitz's could be the first type of middle-slewing tower cranes.
They look like the first Wolff-cranes,especially the trolley-jib.
(the designer of Weitz,Arthur Loeb, worked at Wolff in the post-war years...)

Can you tell us where did you find these pictures?

Much greetings,
Weitz

Hello Weitz,

the date on the photos is 1949! So this cranes are one of the first Weitz cranes. Related to the Potain`s anniversary book from 1999 Weitz started with tower cranes production in 1948-1949 although in the ann. book there is also a notice with photo of equal crane. It is said that these cranes were designed in 1926...

Try to search for photos on Google under tag barrage en construction or similar.
I have an encyclopedia book where I saw photo of a dam construction on Dordogne river in France.
There some of this cranes could be seen , so I started searching on internet.

Does anybody know something about capacities? Datasheets, perhaps kreisch.gif ?

What do you know about (unknown) X1300 from one of the previous post?

Greetings,

Linaprin
